General statement about the Medical & Science Committee and official information from the AIDA Statute

The Medical & Science Committee shall undertake such projects as are requested by the Executive Board and Assembly and shall proposed an annual plan and potential projects to those entities for consideration and approval

General strategy of the Committee

Activity of AIDA International Medical & Science Committee is focused on safety. Whereas ”AIDA International and the jury are not responsible for the safety of the athletes (14.3.6 Rules for Competitions and Records)”, AIDA International should set safety and medical standards for competitions and WR attempts under the auspices of AIDA International. Medical review of AIDA Int official rules, training materials, and setting up of scientific investigations also important and should support the primary objective – safety and well-being of our athletes To standardize the medical & science activities worldwide, a set of medical standard operating procedures should be developed to describe activities and responsibilities of relevant staff before competitions/ WR attempts, during competitions/ WRAs and during the training period.
